Small Carps

Small Carps

It is rather funny how carps have been extensively introduced and “domesticated” into modern society, especially in Europe and the United-States. These very large Old World freshwater bottom-feeding fish used to inhabit the ponds, rivers and streams of Asia, where they still are. In the photo what you can see are domestic baby carps of course. Now I am curious to know if carps have a special signification in the Asian culture as they have seemed to become pests in the other world’s continents.
