I am feeling very patriotic today. In fact, today is the 14th of July and if you attended your history class you would all know what happened on that date: the Storming of the Bastille. In France, Bastille Day is quite a joyous national day. It is celebrated in all cities over the country, not only in Paris.
Military parades, fireworks, convivial gatherings in cafés and “bistrots”, Bastille Day is the opportunity for us to remember all the suffering our ancestors went through during the Revolution. The French National Day is a huge party for freedom, emancipation and human rights. So let’s drink glasses of Champagne and sing the Marseillaise together! You’ll see, you’ll like being a French!
