Those of you who have been following me for the last two years probably know that I am not a believer. However, I have a deep respect for all religions and I think they all have a lot in common. Most of people around the world will celebrate Christmas by this evening – and I will too –, but I would like to remind them that yesterday was a national holiday in most of Muslim-majority countries.
I know that my Muslim friends celebrated the birth of the Prophet and I hope they did it peacefully. After all, because of the recent terrorist attacks, misconceptions and divisions have arisen and this shall not harm human relations! Muslim friends, I wish you a Happy and Blessed Mawlid Nabawi.
A few words about the above photograph : it had been taken during my last holidays in Istanbul, Turkey. This Islamic logo as well as many others can be found inside Hagia Sophia which is one of the most prominent monuments in the world in terms of art and architecture. Furthermore, back in history, Hagia Sophia was used as a mosque for over 48O years!
